How long will the huddle take?
The huddles usually take less than 15 minutes.
How much notice will we get for the huddle?
We hope to contact the team the day before (if not earlier) to coordinate scheduling the huddle.
Can social workers, care managers, pharmacists, and/or specialists be on the huddle?
Yes!
When are the huddles scheduled?
The time that works best for everyone involved.
Are huddles able to be completed for patients that are non-English speaking?
Yes!
Is there a script for the huddle?
Yes! [Insert QR code] The script is also attached to the meeting invite.
Can the huddle occur during rounds?
If that is the preference of the inpatient team, then yes it can.
Does the huddle have to happen in the room with the patient?
We are willing to work with the patient, family, and care team for what is best for their situation. If it would be better facilitated in a different location that is acceptable; however, most huddles take place in the room.
What platform is used for the huddle?
We use Microsoft Teams since it allows us to securely talk with patients, families, and everyone on the healthcare team.
